The Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic is here for you A new specialty care service is now being offered at GCMH: the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic, held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. After an initial consult with Chitravathi Yerrapareddy (Chitra Reddy), MD, at UnityPoint Clinic–Prairie Parkway, patients can now continue their care locally with Deborah Van Dyke, DNP, ARNP, at the GCMH Specialty Clinic. “I am excited to be able to provide care here in Grundy County so patients can conveniently access the care they need without needing to travel,” says Van Dyke. This clinic is for patients with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. Van Dyke provides care for patients with diabetes, including management of oral medica- tions, insulin, insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring. She also cares for patients with thyroid conditions, such as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroid- ism, thyroid nodules, and/or those with a history of thyroid cancer. Those with hyperparathyroidism, osteopenia and osteoporosis can also be treated in this bimonthly clinic. In addition to the new clinic, GCMH offers Diabetes Prevention and Dia- betes Education services, led by our registered dietitians and nutritionists. Patients at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic can also have labs drawn at the hospital and imaging performed, if necessary—all in one convenient location. STAY HEALTHY!
