Grundy County Memorial Hospital | Live Well | Winter 2022

3 S E N I OR L I F E SO LU T I ON S Since kicking off in October 2021, the Senior Life Solutions program at GCMH has greatly affected the lives of seniors in Grundy County and surrounding areas. Those enrolled in the program are provided with much-needed sup- port as they face age-related chal- lenges, such as depression, difficulty sleeping and loss of interest. “It’s been an absolute honor to be able to walk alongside these indi- viduals and help them cope with the sometimes-hard realities of aging,” says Bret Crowl, RN, Director of the program. The first group of patients began meeting in October, and the program is already proving to be helpful. Patients report that they are now able to laugh again, they look forward to the ses- sions and that the program has made a difference in their lives. Along with the program director, the team includes Shelly Schafer, licensed mental health counselor, and Camryn Butler, CMA, office and patient coordinator. Patients have an individual as- sessment and then participate in outpatient group therapy sessions.
